This vintage G Plan Astro nest of 3 occasional tables, with afrormosia banding from the Fresco furniture range by E-Gomme Ltd was designed by Victor Wilkins in the 1960s.

The gorgeous design and superior construction throughout display a strong Scandinavian design influence and makes this interfitting nest of coffee tables a classic addition to any mid-century-styled living interior. The form of the legs gives this vintage teak nest of tables a beautiful retro look. The large coffee table has been decoupaged with a shattered leopard decoupage paper, painted with Cornish Milk Mineral Paint in the shade of Black Rock and leopard print detail has been stencilled on with gold leaf foil. This has been finished with multiple coats of Polyvine Crystal Clear Lacquer in a High Gloss finish. The two smaller side tables have been restored. Their tops have been stripped and lightly sanded to remove the old finish and any stains where possible. These have been finished with two coats of Osmo Polyx Hard Wax Oil in Satin which is resistant to water and dirt is very durable and smoothens wood surfaces. The tables are strong and sturdy with no loose joints. The tables have a few light marks but no more than would be expected. They are in fantastic vintage condition and are ready to be used straight away. The G Plan label is still present on the underside of the long john table. All my work is refinished with care and attention to detail using good quality materials and furniture paints. I source quality pieces of furniture and bring them back to life in unique and creative ways.
